So, who is going to build the 6,000-plus new mine-resistant, ambush-protected all-terrain vehicles, or M-ATVs (seen above), that the United States military needs in Afghanistan. Is it:
a) General Dynamics?
b) Raytheon?
c) Northrop Grumman?
d) Lockheed Martin?
e) Oshkosh?
Answer after the jump:
Believe it or not (I didn’t), the contractor selected to build these mini-tanks is e) Oshkosh.
Yes, Oshkosh Corporation is a big supplier of large, heavy trucks for the military and for fire departments at airports and such. It is OshKosh B’Gosh that makes overalls for kids.
Both are headquartered in the town of (wait for it) Oshkosh, Wisconsin, once also home to the Oshkosh Brewing Company.
There is so much I do not know about the world.

Wow, that’s like Fisher Price making M-16s.
It’s the military-industrial-r-us complex.
